The D10, also called Dasamsa, is a divisional chart used in Jyotish to discuss work and public life. It is derived from the same birth data as the main chart. It does not provide an independent record of your future career.
Why birth-time accuracy matters
A divisional chart subdivides the positions used in the birth chart. Small differences near a division boundary can change a placement or ascendant. There is no single number of minutes that guarantees accuracy for every birth. If the time is approximate, ask for a comparison across the possible range.
A practical sensitivity check
- Write down the earliest and latest plausible birth times, keeping the source of that estimate.
- Keep birthplace, timezone, and other calculation settings the same.
- Compare the resulting charts. Note which features stay the same and which change.
- Ask the reader to separate interpretations based on stable features from those based on uncertain ones.
This exercise checks how sensitive the output is to the input. It does not prove that either interpretation will predict an event.
When D1 and D10 seem to disagree
Illustrative example: one interpretation of the main chart sounds encouraging, while a D10 interpretation sounds difficult. That is a reason to ask how the reader weighs the two, not to conclude that you have hidden failure ahead. Different methods can attach different meanings to the same pattern.
Ask for the reasoning in everyday language. "Your professional karma is blocked" gives you little to examine. An explanation that identifies the assumed birth time and the specific traditional rule is easier to question.
What to use alongside the chart
Bring your work history, current role, and the decision you face. A D10 reading cannot replace a skills assessment, reference check, or understanding of an employment offer. No chart should be used to guarantee a salary, promotion, or exam result.
